Puppy School and Puppy Sessions

Give your puppy the best start to their grooming life with Tidy Tails Puppy School package and standalone sessions. 

Our puppy sessions are designed to allow your puppy to get used to grooming at their own pace in our comfortable salon. Your puppy will get one-on-one time with their groomer, learning about the sights, smells and tools in the salon, as well as learning how to stand on a table, be comfortably handled, and see that it's not so scary after all.

What service is right for my dog? 

  • Puppys First Visit 

A welcome to the salon session, designed for your puppy to get to know the salon environment. Visit the salon, get to know your groomer, play with toys and eat yummy treats. Your puppy will spend time on the table, smelling the equipment that will be used in their future grooms. Your groomer will spend time answering your questions and concerns, provide advice for at home grooming and desensitisation and discuss future plans for puppy's first haircut! A bag of recommended products for your puppy's coat type are also available.

20 minute in depth salon tour, guidance and advise session is £10

  • Puppy Introduction Sessions 

Starting with a gentle bath and blow dry, our puppy introduction sessions are specially designed to allow your puppy to get used to grooming at their own pace. We will introduce them to the sights, sounds, smells, tools and activities that will make up their experience with us. They will learn to stand on the table, be handled, held and moved around, and learn that it's not so scary!

Our puppy sessions are broken down into levels, depending on your puppy's previous experience and confidence:

- Level 1 : Welcome to the salon, gentle bath, blow dry, handling of paws and face and learning to sit still (even if only for a second)

- Level 2 : Gentle bath, dry, brush, ear clean, nail clip, handling paws and holding face for trimming 

- Level 3 : Gentle bath, fluff dry, brush and comb, ear clean, nail clip, pad clip out, hygiene clipping, face and paw tidy

  • Puppy School

Enroll today at Tidy Tails Puppy School! A full course package aimed to get your puppy groom ready, ensuring they have the best possible introduction and chance at success. Available to book for puppies age 12 weeks to 8 months of age. This package includes ; a drop in and full 20 minute puppy's first visit, a package of recommended products and demonstration, 3 introduction sessions, additional desensitisation sessions as required and their first full haircut. Each session includes photography, treats and a little extra time for playing! Once your puppy has completed their course, you will receive a certificate and a selection of digital photographs to see just how far your puppy has come.

  • Additional Desensitisation

We can offer additional desensitisation sessions, as well as personally tailored sessions for particularly nervous puppies. Please speak to your groomer to discuss your puppy's needs
